37 Korean Troops Convert to Islam

37 Korean Troops Convert to Islam
Ahead of Iraq Deployment, 37 Korean Troops Convert to Islam
"I became a Muslim because I felt Islam was more humanistic and peaceful than other religions. And if you can religiously connect with the locals, I think it could be a big help in carrying out our peace reconstruction mission." So said on Friday those Korean soldiers who converted to Islam ahead of their late July deployment to the Kurdish city of Irbil in northern Iraq.

At noon Friday, 37 members of the Iraq-bound "Zaitun Unit," including Lieutenant Son Hyeon-ju of the Special Forces 11th Brigade, made their way to a mosque in Hannam-dong, Seoul and held a conversion ceremony.

The soldiers, who cleansed their entire bodies in accordance with Islamic tradition, made their conversion during the Friday group prayers at the mosque, with the assistance of the "imam," or prayer leader.

With the exception of the imam, all the Muslims and the Korean soldiers stood in a straight line to symbolize how all are equal before God and took a profession on faith.

They had memorized the Arabic confession, " Ashadu an La ilaha il Allah, Muhammad-ur-Rasool-Allah," which means, "I testify that there is no god but God (Arabic: Allah), and Muhammad is the Messenger of God."

Moreover, as the faithful face the "Kaaba," the Islamic holy place in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, all Muslims confirm that they are brothers.

For those Korean soldiers who entered the Islamic faith, recent chances provided by the Zaitun Unit to come into contact with Islam proved decisive.

Taking into consideration the fact that most of the inhabitants of Irbil are Muslims, the unit sent its unreligious members to the Hannam-dong mosque so that they could come to understand Islam. Some of those who participated in the program were entranced by Islam and decided to convert.

A unit official said the soldiers were inspired by how important religious homogeneity was considered in the Muslim World; if you share religion, you are treated not as a foreigner, but as a local, and Muslims do not attack Muslim women even in war.

Zaitun Unit Corporal Paek Seong-uk (22) of the Army's 11th Division said, "I majored in Arabic in college and upon coming across the Quran, I had much interest in Islam, and I made up my mind to become a Muslim during this religious experience period [provided by the Zaitun Unit]."

He expressed his aspirations. "If we are sent to Iraq, I want to participate in religious ceremonies with the locals so that they can feel brotherly love and convince them that the Korean troops are not an army of occupation but a force deployed to provide humanitarian support."

Umar Rao From RSS - Why I Embrace-Islam

Muhammed Umar Rao initially hated Muslims. However, after reading the Koran, the Indian man was actually found what he was looking for this, which eventually led to a major decision is taken. Rao decided to embrace Islam at the age of fairly still a teenager, which is about 18 years. "I feel blessed with the religion of Allah," he said crisply.

Derived from the Brahman caste middle-class family, since childhood, Rao was educated in the teachings and values of Hinduism. This religious education he obtained directly from the guidance of one of his maternal uncle. While the extended family is known as a family who hated Muslims. Therefore, not surprisingly, he grew into a Hindu fanatic.

At a young age, Rao joined one of the largest Hindu nationalist political groups in India, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In India, the RSS is known as a hard-line Hindu groups who hated the Muslims there. "I always spread hatred against Islam, including in a public space though," he said. One example is Rao often tighten the volume of music that was enjoyed when a voice call to prayer.

His introduction to Islam occurred when the mother asked him to work at a company whose owner was a Muslim during the summer holidays. Of course, the request is rejected Rao, considering that since childhood he had hated with a Muslim name. In order not to disappoint his parents, he then decided to fill summer holidays by working in a company run by non-Muslims.

However, Rao did not like the job. He then decided to go out and concentrate more on his studies after graduation in order to be able to get a better job. In contrast to Rao, mother and sister chose to work part time in the company of Muslims during the two months. They, he said, was very impressed with the owner of the company.

Seeing those close to him always praise the owner of the company, making more and hate Muslims Rao. However, driven by guilt because he could not be useful for the family, he decided to accept job offers given by her mother. The greater the hatred of Islam, when he knows many of the non-Muslim employees who worked at the company converted to Islam.

His anger against the company owner, he gave vent to the lesson that religion is the truest. From there then Rao began a study of comparative religion. And since then, to know more about Islam, Rao began reading English translations of the Qur'an.

It certainly brought a change in his life. "After reading it, I like being trapped in fear, doubt, and conscious of the fact that I had been doing was wrong. Religion which I believe has been proved to be only about imagination or myth and false stories, "he explained.

From there then came doubt in Rao. He then asked his parents, the people around him who he knew had met with God or ever make drawings and paintings of God. However, these people said that no one has ever seen God as much expressed in the Qur'an. This fact is even more undermined faith in the teachings of Hinduism. Stories about Ganesha, Chamundeswari, Rama, Sinta, and others no longer makes sense to him. "I can not imagine them as gods."

In fact, when she asked her parents why the teachings of the Vedas are clearly at variance with the gods is still running, the mother even scolded him and said he should have done what has been exemplified by their ancestors.

The next day, Rao read a verse in the Qur'an Surah Al-Baqarah verse 170 which reads: "When it is said unto them, 'Follow what Allah has revealed,' they reply: '(No), but we only follow what we have found from the (deeds) of our forefathers'. (Whether they will follow as well, although their ancestors did not know any one, nor had a clue? "

His view then is also drawn to verse 134 of Surah Al-Baqarah that reads: "That was the last race, for him what he had earned and yours what did you try, and you will not be questioned about what they have done."

When reading the second verse, Rao was amazed because the explanations in the second verse of the Qur'an exactly as the questions he proposed to his mother. He felt tertohok by the second verse. He realized that for all the questions that had been residing in his head, it turns out the answer in the Qur'an.

Since then slowly, he began to break the habit of worshiping statues of Hindu gods and stop doing Pooja (ritual prayer in the Hindu-Red). "Since this includes shirk, and it is the only sin that will not be forgiven."

Furthermore, Rao began practicing the teachings of Islam, although it is still done by stealth. But gradually, this is not about Islam he can hide again from his extended family. Knowing this, Rao's family could not accept this new belief. Luckily he still has a sister who was also interested in Islam, and eventually his brother embraced Islam.

Together this sister, Rao finally decided to get out of the house, and live apart from their extended family. "For more than a year we were living without a job nor a permanent source of income. However, praise be to God, who allows us to go through all the tough times, "he said.

At this difficult time, said Rao, Allah Almighty has opened the doors of opportunity to him, according to the prayers during the time he prayed in each of the five daily prayers. Consequently, when the job offer came from industrial machinery firm, he delivered a proposal. However, he was forced to leave this job because of working hours that disrupt beribadahnya time.

Having been unemployed for almost a year, he finally decided to work as a teacher. Profession he lived until today. Even with incomes somewhat not so great, she feels grateful that God had answered her prayers.

As Allah says in the Qur'an Surah Al-Ankabut paragraph 2: "Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: 'We believe, and will not be tested."

Now, this young Indian, belonging to a very devout Muslim worship. He was originally a group of haters of Islam, now after carefully studying Islam, the religion he loved the Prophet Muhammad who brought this. In fact, when there is negative sentiment toward Islam among non-Muslims, Rao always be in the front guard and be an advocate. He believes Islam is a religion of peace and love, and for the glory of mankind.

BRITISH MODEL CARLEY WATTS EMBRACED ISLAM

1238163_728325333850203_84294944_n

Fatima says that she felt inner satisfaction after reading the preaching of Islam. ‘It is the Islamic religion only that can help people to reap benefits in the Hereafter’. Stating about veil Fatima said that by wearing black cloak to cover her whole body and observing Hijab, her inner conscience feels satisfied and peaceful.
The model turned Muslim woman also appealed to other non-followers to give up their religion and accept Islam, which is a complete religion.
The 24-year- old former model and single mom ditched her career and converted to Islam after falling in love with her boyfriend Salah, a Muslim Tunisian native. The two met when Carley, (Fatima) was vacating there. Carley felt that Salah truly loved her and his willingness to accept her despite knowing about her bare modeling for various publications and most importantly being a single mother made her to fall for him.
Presenting reasons from being a lingerie woman to a covered woman from head to toe she said that his boyfriend turned husband had told her that after our marriage your body should be only for my eyes. Hence, being fallen in love she fulfills her commands. Fatima’s in-laws are still unaware about her previous career life. The former model says that it is Islam that gives due status and respect to women and enjoin people with better lifestyle in every way.
Carley says”These are the kind of values I love about Islam. Women are treated with respect and they also respect themselves and their bodies. They don’t do one-night stands or casual flings”
It is worthwhile here to mention that the decision of the former British model met many criticisms. Some stated this would not last longer while some said it is going crazy to give up career to devote you as a Muslim wife. On the other hand, Muslim people appreciated and welcomed her to enter Islam, saying that ALLAH showed her the right path.

28-year-old Britain Police Officer Jayne Kemp's

I wasn’t looking for a religion ... I just fell in love with Islam

28-year-old Britain Police Officer Jayne Kemp's

According to The Sun news over 5,000 Brits become Muslim every year, well over half are white, and 75 percent of those happen to be women. I have no clue what the appeal is, particularly for women, even after reading the reasons four Brit women converted to Islam, including a policewoman, a model, a student and a jobseeker. All four have different reasons for converting, the most understandable being the one who married a Muslim, the least being the one who convertedafter getting her heart broken by a Muslim man. All four have decided to show the world their decision by wearing the hijab.

This is 28-year-old police officer Jayne Kemp's story. She's the oldest of the lot:

But what would make someone want to change their lifestyle so dramatically? Police Community Support Officer Jayne Kemp left her Catholic roots behind after “falling in love” with Islam while helping victims of so-called honour violence.

JAYNE KEMP patrols her beat wearing a traditional hijab headscarf and even works extra time after shifts so she can attend Friday prayers at her mosque.

Devout Jayne converted to Islam last April and even plans to change her name to Aminah.

The single mum, who patrols Eccles, Gtr Manchester, as a Police Community Support Officer, says: “I thought Islam was all about women being forced to slave away in the kitchen — but I found out it was about being generous with your time, and patient and respectful of others.

“As I looked into it, I saw similarities with Catholicism and noticed values such as looking after your neighbours and cherishing the elderly, which is something older people say younger people don’t do any more.

“I wasn’t looking for any religion at the time but for every question I had answered about Islam, I had five more. I think I fell in love with it.”

Devoted Jayne even missed out on celebrating Christmas with her son, nine, and daughter, seven. She sent them off to their dad’s and cooked her own meal so it would be halal — the meat slaughtered in the manner prescribed by Sharia law.

Airline Pilot Aisha reverts to Islam

Sister Aisha Jibreel Alexander, a Airline pilot reverted to Islam. She was a former Christian. Read her amazing story.....

Sister Aisha Jibreel Alexander, a Airline pilot reverted to Islam. She was a former Christian. Read her amazing story.....

My Name is Aisha Jibreel Alexander, I grew up in a Roman Catholic family, schools and universities. I was always very interested in knowing about religion and always questioned the “dogmas” of the catholic faith, but I  found the same answers every time I asked about the trinity , “ you had to believe and not question your faith because you are committing a sin”, the nuns at the school always replied. With this concept I grew up and  I developed a fear to challenge my faith, so I continued in the road of Christianity with a great faith and trust in God and  on what I learn to believe  “ the Holy trinity.”

In 2001 I had the first meeting with Islam when I worked for a Canadian Company own by Muslims, there I had my first confrontation with Islam, but I was young and very much dedicated to my professional career so I left the questions about religion behind, and I concentrated on finishing my career and taking care of my responsibilities with my family who also relocated with me from Colombia, my mother and my grandmother whose are now 61 and 93 years old. I was very blessed with the family were I was born; these two women taught me the love and respect to God, they started my journey to Islam by teaching me that I could not be or do anything without faith in God. Regardless the school they adhere or followed they taught me all about faith and respect for God.

I got married in 2003, a marriage that unfortunately marked my life with domestic violence but out of the sad episode I had my dearest son who is now eight years old. My husband at the time did not believe in God or I should said he believed on his own way, he drew me far from God even from Christianity, it is the most sad episode of my life, but one day in 2005 I broke out of that situation with the Help of my Mother and I continued life alone with my son, my mother and working hard to achieve  my career goals while  becoming the main provider of my home.

Aviation brought me many opportunities most of them really good, I had the opportunity to live in Malaysia a country that shares three religions, Islam mainly, HInduism and Buddhism, then I lived in South America and I worked in United States as Corporate Pilot, now I am  an Airline pilot flying mainly to Asia, Middle East and Europe. Unfortunately being the only female Pilot almost every where I go I spend lost of time lonely, most of my colleagues spend their spare time in night clubs and bars, and I was looking for something else that I could not find never in a club or at a bar, so I dedicated my spare time to continue my University  studies online, but no time for God other than a small pray in the morning and maybe at night time, no time to go to churches, so I was growing as a career woman but what about the life after???...

When I travel to the Middle East I always felt something  special inside , there I felt like dressing in a more decent manner than I normally did, I used to  wear tight jeans , tight  pants and fashion tops but I didn’t feel like dressing on that way on the Middle East,  not at a place where they call the name of God five times a day...I felt ashamed…..I guess this is how the conversion started .. once in Bahrein while waiting for my airplane to be fixed, I downloaded the Quran and I started praying every day in the morning before going to the breakfast. I was feeling very empty inside;  my life then was limited to wake up, work, eat, exercise and sleep….but what about my spiritual life???, not even  when I returned back to Home, I was not leading my son spiritually in the way I was suppose to. Previously on my search to find God I went from the Catholic church to the Baptist church, and after the ceremony of the baptism we only went  back to church a few times, mainly because of my tight schedule at work  and honestly  there was no connection, something was  missing, I was not there completely.

Was God in my life?? Yes, indeed , but He had better plans for me I think he was just waiting for me to realize that my life was not only to work and pay bill,  he knew  I had more responsibilities with myself and my son, those responsibilities  to build the life after;  so God knocked at my door...and I was afraid to open, I thought just by talking to God on my mind all day and say his name many times in the day was enough to feed my soul….but not it wasn’t enough, God knew I was on urgent need of him saving my life.

The moment I said Islam was for me, it was in the Middle East; when I heard the call for praying, at that moment I had to cover my eyes with my sun glasses in front of the other pilots that were with me on the way to the restaurant, because my eyes covered with tears...I felt like saying; stop! I have to join this pray. I still remember one of them making fun of the songs of the Quran, and I felt so upset inside, I felt like calling him ignorant, don’t you realize is a call for praying to God?… but the words didn’t come out , but the tears kept rolling down my eyes. On that night after dinner I came to my room grabbed the praying rug and bowed dow to God as I asked for his guidance for my spiritual light. After that night my search started more strong than ever, I watched videos, read the Quran on my long flights, looked out for Islamic organizations to find answers, and finally one day in Argentina while resting after a long flight I listed a program about Islam in the country, so I  googled for Islam in South America and I found that I was not the only hispanic interested in Islam, the community was bigger than what any one could imagine. I committed my self to return to Argentina soon and visit the biggest Masjid in the American Continent. so I did, three months passed and I was assigned to a trip to Argentina on the thanksgivings day. After arriving I made an appointment and went to visit the Masjid, met with the Sheij, a person from South Arabia who leads the Masjid, we talk  for about three hours and before I left he asked me if I wanted to embrace Islam, I said right away ,Yes!,  I felt fear for not coming back to Argentina  or maybe not to have that opportunity again.

My biggest struggle was to change my preconceived conviction of Jesus (Pbuh) being God, at first I felt I was betraying him, I was concerned and scare, I couldn’t wash out those phrases from the nuns back at the school saying “ not to challenge the religion because it was a sin”. This was the most difficult part.

Sheij Mohammed from the Argentina’s Masjid helped me a lot with a little phrase, he said to me; “Ibrahim, Moses, Noah, and Jesus (pbut) where all in this road, do you think is there any reason why you can’t be following them?”…
reading the Quran and finding the recognition that Jesus (pbuh) has, the importance of Maryam  in Islam, she is in Islam more important than for many Christians, reading about the influence of Constantine and how he changed Christianity, all these studies helped a lot in clearing out my mind and feel comfortable with accepting the truth that was always hidden to me, not in purpose, hidden just because that it was the truth that my parents and ancestors knew and “never challenged”.

As far as my lifestyle, I stopped drinking, this happened few months before I accepted Islam, soon after my trip from Bahrein, after I prayed for guidance ,  I met with a good friend of mine; she and I always eat at the same restaurant and had a drink or two with the food,  that day I said “not” I don’t drink any more, and I declared inside of me I was never going to have another alcoholic beverage because I want it to seek  God. Also, I am not eating pork ,I am changing my wardroom, which is very difficult because I love clothing and fashion.  I was always proud of my body and I liked to dress in a way that every one could look at me, now I am starting wearing a Hijab,  wearing losing cloth, abayas and modest long shirt.

At work I am struggling very much, in the company where I work, most people are bias about Islam.
As far as My mother, she is Christian but she said to be glad to my positive changes and she is learning every day more and more about Islam and she feels proud of me being a Muslim and now that my son, 8 years old had also revert by his own willing to Islam she is happy that we are on this safe path seeing for God.

My dreams as new Muslim are  to study Islam sciences and help those families that are struggling with accepting the idea of converting to Islam, I want to focus on children coming to Islam .

I think convert to a new faith is harder for parents with young children because they   can be easy confused, this is why I would like to concentrate in children of converted families in the future.

I also would like as a Muslim Pilot  show the world that Islam is not the submission or oppression that many think it is , and defeat the idea that Islam  rejects career women; all contrary being able to do what I do is something that  only Allah could make possible.

The last thing I would like to share is that I had chosen a Muslim name for me which is Aisha Jibreel. Aisha means New Life, and Islam is a new life for me, and Jibreel, because he is the messenger of Allah and I am in Islam because Allah delivered to my heart a message of Peace by showing me the road to Islam.

Muslims believe that Jesus PBUH according to the Holy Quran is a wonderful, humble, generous messenger of God who came down and revealed God's words to his people, the people of Israel. Muslims do not believe that Jesus is God, nor they believe that God ever chose to come down to earth in a form of a man to die for our sins to purify us and forgive us. Muslims believe that Jesus was sentenced to death, and people thought that he got executed on the cross. The Quran rejects this idea, and claims that it is a false one. Jesus never died on the cross, nor he ever died for anyone's sins. Let us look at what the Holy Quran says about this issue: Let's look at verse 4:156-159 "That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary A grave false charge; That they said (in boast): 'We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.' But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise. And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness Against them." The false charge against Mary was that she was unchaste. Such a charge is bad enough to make against any woman, but to make it against Mary, the mother of Jesus, was to bring into redicule Allah's power itself. Islam is specially strong in guarding the reputation of women. Slanderers of women are bound to bring four witnesses in support of their accusation, and if they fail to produce four witnesses, they are be flogged with eighty stripes and debarred forever from being competent witnesses.

Let us look at verse 24:4 "And those who launch A charge against chaste women, And produce not four witnesses (To support their allegations) Flog them with eighty stripes; And reject their evidence Ever after: for such men Are wicked transgressors. Unless they repent thereafter And mend (their conduct); For Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful."

Christ's attributes are mentioned: 1- That he was the son of a woman, Mary, and therefore a man. 2- But a messenger, a man with a mission from Allah, and therefore entitled to honour. 3- A word bestowed on Mary, for he was created by Allah's word "Be" (kun....in Arabic), and he was. 4- A spirit proceeding from Allah, but not Allah. His life and his mission were more limited than in the case of some other Messengers, through we must pay equal honour to him as a prophet from Allah. The doctrine of Trinity, equality with Allah, and sonship, are repudiated as blasphemies. Allah is independent of all needs and has no need of a son to manage His affairs. The Gospel of John in the Bible has put in a great deal of Alexandrine and Gnostic mysticism round the doctrine of the Word (Greek, Logos), but it is simply explained in the Holy Quran. In 4:156-159 ".....To serve and worship Allah....." Christ often watched and prayed, as a humble worshipper of Allah; and his agony in the Garden of Gethsemane was full of human dignity, suffering, and self-humiliation.
